For nonprofits

Solar for congregations, schools, camps and community nonprofits.

Divine Solar helps synagogues, yeshivas, churches and nonprofit camps turn their roofs into a permanent reduction in operating cost — money that goes back into programs, not the utility bill.

Recent work

Houses of worship, schools and camps across the country.

Every building is different — sanctuary rooflines, historic facades, camp campuses and school schedules all shape the design.

Synagogues & shuls with a rooftop solar array

Synagogues & shuls

Sanctuary and social-hall roofs carry a full array quietly — no visible conduit on street elevations, and Shabbat-safe monitoring that needs no interaction.

Yeshivas & day schools with a rooftop solar array

Yeshivas & day schools

Large flat roofs and high daytime load make schools the best solar economics of any building type. Work is phased around the academic calendar.

Churches & parish halls with a rooftop solar array

Churches & parish halls

Steep slate and shingle roofs, historic districts and campus buildings — engineered mounting that protects the structure and the look.

Nonprofit camps & retreat centers with a rooftop solar array

Nonprofit camps & retreat centers

Bunk houses, dining halls and rec buildings across a whole campus. Summer peak load lines up perfectly with peak sun, and we install in the off-season so no session is ever disrupted.

No tax liability? No problem.

Nonprofits now receive the solar credit as a cash payment.

Under elective pay (direct pay), a tax-exempt organization can claim the 30% federal solar credit as a direct payment from the IRS — and many nonprofits qualify for two 10% bonus adders, bringing the total federal incentive up to 50%. Add state SREC revenue on every kilowatt-hour the system produces.

  • 30–50% federal credit paid directly to the organization
  • +10% domestic content bonus for US-made panels/inverters
  • +10% qualifying area bonus for low-income or energy-community sites
  • Total federal incentive up to 50% for eligible nonprofits
  • State SREC income for 15 years of production
  • $0-capital options: PPA, lease and donor-funded structures
